It is mainly classified into three core categories by the number of roller rows: Single-row, Double-row, and Four-row. Common single-row models include Type N (outer ring without ribs, inner ring with double ribs), Type NU (outer ring with double ribs, inner ring without ribs), Type NJ (outer ring with double ribs, inner ring with single rib), Type NUP (outer ring with double ribs, inner ring with single rib + separable flat rib) etc.; double-row models are mainly Type NN (outer ring without ribs, inner ring with double ribs + middle rib) and Type NNU (outer ring with double ribs + middle rib, inner ring without ribs); four-row models include Type FC (two outer rings and one inner ring) and Type FCD (combination of two NN types). Precision grades are divided into five levels from low to high: P0, P6, P5, P4, P2, among which P4 and P2 grades are suitable for ultra-precision scenarios such as machine tool spindles. Cylindrical roller bearings with a cage can accommodate heavy radial loads and operate at high speeds. Full complement cylindrical roller bearings are suitable for very heavy radial loads at moderate speeds. Cylindrical roller bearings has a high carrying capacity, was widely used in agricultural machinery, large and medium-sized motors, rolling stock equipment, machine tool spindle, internal combustion engine, generator, gas turbine, gear box, rolling mill machine, vibrating screen and lifting machinery etc.
In a single row cylindrical roller bearing, the rollers are always guided between the integral “open” flanges on one of the rings. These “open” flanges combined with the specially designed and surface finished roller ends, provide improved lubrication, reduced friction and consequently lower operating temperature. The ring with the integral flanges together with the cylindrical roller and cage assembly can be separated from the other ring. This results in easy mounting and dismounting, particularly where the load conditions are such that interference fits are required for both rings.
